Dragon Child

Join us for the Mill Valley Art walk with featured Artist Katie Shaw. Dragon Child is an independent all ages modern day fantasy comic by Katie, where mythical creatures are real and the dragons have selected one unsuspecting human girl to be their ambassador to humanity.  Cartoonist, Katie Shaw, also hand makes her own dragon characters into large adoptable plush toys and hand puppets to further bring the world of Dragon Child alive.  The Dragon Child comic book series is available in both individual comic issues and trade paperback volumes.  Dragon Child full color prints, coloring page sets, original pencil and inked art, stickers, and bookmarks by Katie Shaw are also available.

Artist Biography

Katie Shaw is a cartoonist who brings mythological creatures to life in her modern day all ages fantasy comic, Dragon Child.  She grew up with a love for animation, illustrated books, and fantasy novels, but Katie wanted to tell her own fantastic stories.  Her discovery of independent comics in Elementary School inspired Katie to share her stories in the form of comics.  Katie created her own major for Sequential Art and studied under three Japanese manga artists in Tokyo, Japan while on an internship through St. Olaf College, teaching her many valuable techniques she uses to create comics today.  She also found a talent for plush and puppet creation after she designed and made one of her dragon characters into a large plush for sale at her first comic convention in October, 2013.
