Animal Mask Camp - August 11 - 15
Calling all young creators, performers, and daydreamers! At Woander World Animal Mask Camp, kids ages 8–14 will dive into the world of storytelling through hands-on artistry and performance. From crafting wild and whimsical paper mâché masks to developing original characters and learning the art of masks and improv, every day is packed with imagination and magic.
Mornings will be spent designing and building one-of-a-kind masks —using paper mâché, paint, fabric, and found materials to bring creatures and characters to life. With guidance from expert teaching artists, kids will explore the fundamentals of visual storytelling and expressive design.
In the afternoons, the stage is set for creative exploration through improvisation, group theater games, and guided storytelling sessions. Campers will step into character, collaborate on scenes, and rehearse for a final performance that showcases their unique creations and stories.
And because it’s summer, we’ll make sure to get outside for playful games like Mirror Tag, Creature Capture, and Theater Freeze Dance in the fresh air of the nearby park.
By the end of the week, each camper will have a handcrafted mask, a fully imagined character, and a role in a collaborative final performance shared with friends and families!
